Areal Linguistics and Languages of Russia

The Linguistic Convergence Laboratory and the School of Linguistics, HSE invite applications from students and scholars of all levels willing to participate in the International Summer School Areal Linguistics and Languages of Russia.

The School has been canceled due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

The School will offer a range of theoretical and methodological courses introducing different linguistic topics and plenary lectures by world renowned experts in the domain of areal typology. The School focuses on areal linguistics, sociolinguistics and linguistic typology.

In addition to the main program, there will also be a poster session for young linguists.

The organizing committee of the Summer School includes Johanna Nichols, Michael Daniel, Nina Dobrushina, George Moroz, Ezequiel Koile, Chiara Naccarato, Elena Sokur, Aleksandra Vydrina.

The application form is now available here. The application deadline is March 15, 2020.
In addition to plenary lectures, each participant can take up to four courses.
The participation fee is 1000 rubles for Russian participants, and 200 euros for foreign participants. It includes classes, accommodation and three meals per day (transportation expenses are not covered).
