Seminars

January 16, 2018

In the first seminar Maria Kyuseva gave a talk about "Non-manaual markers of size and shape specifiers". The aim of the study was exploring non-manaul markers that accompany size and shape specifiers (SASS). According to Wilbur (Wilbur 2000) and Meir and Sandler (Meir & Sandler 2013), the lower part of the face tends to fulfill a lexical role, while the upper part of the face marks syntactic structures. That is why Maria was focusing on the lower part of the face, i.e. cheeks, jaw, tongue and lips.
