The main concern of the talk is how Learner Corpora and Frame approach can be used as heuristic instruments in lexical typology. We shall explain how the appropriate questionnaire has to be arrived at, with a closer look at the English phrasal verbs look down / look up and their (very non-trivial) translational equivalents in various languages.
